For some time now, I’ve been writing about Greg Lindberg’s book 633 Days Inside: Lessons on Life & Leadership, his remarkable prison memoir. It can be found on Amazon, GooglePlay, Apple Books and all other major ebook outlets. The paperback is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and, via IngramSpark, at outlets around the world.
I’ve covered Greg’s videos on YouTube. I’ve chronicled his transformative experience in prison and how, after having his case unanimously overturned on appeal, he came out determined to help improve the chances of other people dealing with the justice system. Whether guilty or not, his message for anyone incarcerated or facing the possibility is the mantra he lived by himself while in custody: “Get better, not bitter.”
In 2020 - the year he went “inside” - Greg founded Interrogating Justice, a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring awareness and help advance solutions that hold corrupt government actors accountable, ensure fairness in sentencing, support reentry, and provide access to justice for all.
Most recently, I covered the story of his friend Richard McDonald, who now works to help others dealing with the justice system by writing articles and counseling people. Richard’s heartfelt story of a kindness leading to a tight friendship with Greg was the most popular by far of everything I wrote in this Substack.
Now a New Year looms and I’m moving on to other subjects and projects, but I will never relent in my own quest for true justice for everyone, and to help those who work toward a more equitable and peaceful society.
I believe we’re here to help each other, and I hope you do, too. I wish you and yours a very Happy New Year in 2023 and all the years to come. There are ups and downs, bright sunshine and dark clouds in our lives, but we should seek the silver linings and help them be revealed.
As Marcus Aurelius said over 2000 years ago “Our life is what our thoughts make it.” Wishing us all the best of thoughts.
